Women Pirates and Travelers
  • Wednesday, 10:00am CST-11:00am CST   Ical event icon
  • This program takes place at Westminster Presbyterian Church as a part of the Magnet Senior Center. Women fill the pages of early modern travel narratives, many authored by men, but a few written by women. Yet, somehow, we seem to know very little about these women; most of them remain unseen by history. Join James Ford Bell Library Curator Marguerite Ragnow as she shares some of their stories: from pirates and naughty noble women to slaves and Boston matrons.
