Easter Brunch w/ Twin Cities Hot Club
  • Sunday, 10:00am CDT   Ical event icon
  • The Twin Cities Hot Club (TCHC) represents Minnesota in the burgeoning revival of gypsy jazz originally popularized by Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grappelli and the Hot Club of France. They recreate not only the famous la pompe that distinguishes this romantic brand of acoustic jazz but also gypsy bossanova, musette, bolero, and swing. TCHC perform this timeless deep-rooted music that is physical, alive and speaks directly to the heart.

Hello, Dolly!
  • Sunday, 1:00pm CDT   Ical event icon
  • Tony Award-winning Broadway legend Betty Buckley stars in “Hello, Dolly!” – the universally acclaimed smash that NPR calls “the best show of the year!” Winner of 4 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival, director Jerry Zaks’ “gorgeous” new production (Vogue) is “making people crazy happy!” (The Washington Post). Breaking box office records week after week and receiving thunderous raves on Broadway, this “Hello, Dolly!” pays tribute to the original work of legendary director/choreographer Gower Champion — hailed both then and now as one of the greatest stagings in musical theater history. Rolling Stone calls it “a must-see event. A musical comedy dream. If you’re lucky enough to score a ticket, you’ll be seeing something historic. Wow, wow, wow indeed!”

A Tribute to Sister Rosetta Tharpe and Marie Knight
  • Sunday, 7:00pm CDT   Ical event icon
  • Jamecia Bennett and Rajane Katurah Brown (Star Tribune “9 Artists to Watch in 2019”) present an encore tribute to Sister Rosetta Tharpe and Marie Knight with the music from Park Square Theatre’s production of “Marie and Rosetta.” Bringing fierce guitar playing and swing to gospel music, Sister Rosetta Tharpe influenced rock musicians from Elvis to Jimi Hendrix and Ray Charles. It’s easy enough to look at Sister Rosetta Tharpe’s life and conclude that her innovative, genre-bending musicianship was “ahead of its time.” Throughout her rise, she was activated by and reactive to the sanctity and secularism that marked her world.
