In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, please help us make sure everyone in our community has access to a cloth face mask.
On behalf of many partner organizations, the Mpls Downtown Improvement District is gathering reusable cloth masks for people staying in emergency shelters and congregate care facilities. Over 3,000 masks are needed to meet existing needs for residents and staff at these facilities. While cloth masks don’t replace medical-grade personal protective equipment, they do help keep the wearer’s germs from getting on other people, which is key to stopping the spread of COVID-19.
For guidelines on creating face masks, please see the webpage for the Governor’s Homemade Mask Drive, which inspired this local effort.
