The yearly event helps provide flowers at Peavey Plaza each summer.

The Minneapolis Downtown Improvement District held its annual Community Planting Day at Peavey Plaza on Friday, June 10. The event, held yearly in early June, offers a chance for the MDID staff along with community volunteers to help add flowers and plants to Peavey Plaza along Nicollet Mall and 12th Street.

The event took place from 10 am to 2 pm and included several different groups of volunteers, including AT&T employees, members of the Loring Park community, individuals who learned of the event through social media and more. Tangletown Gardens provided the flowers and plants for the day and also provided planting support.

The Minneapolis DID strives to enhance the greening, cleaning and safety of downtown, and adding flowers to the Peavey Plaza area helps enhance its vibrancy during the summer months.
