By providing litter removal, graffiti abatement, pressure washing, sweeping, weeding, recycling, gum removal and other cleaning services consistently throughout downtown, we show how much we care about our city.
DID’s services supplement and enhance, but do not replace, those performed by private properties and the City of Minneapolis, thus creating a consistent experience throughout a 124 blocks of downtown.
Taking Care Of Things
From removing snow on Nicollet, maintaining public art and infrastructure to keeping irrigation systems working, we're doing the extra things that keep downtown humming along and welcoming to all who work, shop, live or visit here.
Recycling
In 2011 DID launched the first outdoor recycling program in Mpls with a 20 can pilot on Nicollet. From there it has grown to hundreds of cans throughout the district.
Cigarette Butts
As we continue to evolve our services we stay mindful of sustainability, in 2019 DID began a new program to recycle cigarette butts. With the help of grant funding DID plans to expand the number of urns to divert litter from planting beds, sidewalks and the Mississippi River.
Graffiti Removal Services
In addition to our routine graffiti removal services in the downtown public right of way, ambassadors may also address exterior graffiti tags on private property on a fee-for-serve basis. Please submit a graffiti removal consent form to [email protected].
