Downtown Tree Census - tree tag

 

How to participate

  1. Find a street tree with a metal tag on it. (pictured below)
  2. Text “Census” to the phone number listed on the tag.
  3. Follow the prompts to complete an inventory of the tree. 
  4. Enter the condition of the tree and measure the tree’s circumference.

Supplies

  • Volunteers will need a phone and a soft measuring tape. 
  • If you need a measuring tape, please email [email protected].

Prizes

  • The first twenty volunteers to inventory twenty trees will receive a $20 Target gift card.
  • The first ten people to inventory fifty trees receive a $50 Target gift card.
  • One grand prize winner will receive a $100 Target gift card, awarded to the volunteer who inventories the most trees by the end of the census.
